A rugged, portable instrument for the detection of explosives, narcotics, toxic industrial and military chemicals Simultaneous detection and discrimination of explosives and narcotics from a single sample Proprietary scanning sequence for detection of conventional and home-made explosives Wi-Fi/Ethernet for unattended remote operation Instant alarm function to prevent contamination of the instrument with a sample
The Multi-Mode Threat Detector (MMTD) takes portable detection to a new level without compromising portability or functionality. The MMTD is a rugged, IP54-rated portable system built for extreme conditions and designed to quickly detect and discriminate between explosives, narcotics, military chemicals and toxic industrial chemicals, optimized for the detection of peroxides, markers and methamphetamine precursors.
Four modes are available, including a dual-mode option for simultaneous detection of explosives and narcotics from a single sample. Operators can also quickly switch between particle and vapor analysis to select the best sampling method.
Other features include: up to 5 hours of continuous operation with two hot-swappable batteries (included); remote unattended operation for one or more units with threat alert and status transmission via Wi-Fi/Ethernet; unlimited SD card slot and USB port for exporting results. Included software allows operators to perform more in-depth data analysis and print results via a network connection.
The MMTD is designed for those who need a portable, broad-spectrum threat detection system. Its exterior design is ideal for the frontline soldier or security officer working in harsh environments (such as border or port). The broad-spectrum threat detection capability and portability of the unit make it ideal for aviation, special events and border security.
MMTD uses proven Smiths Detection Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology trusted by military, law enforcement and governments worldwide.
MMTD can operate remotely and automatically, with threat alerts and status being transmitted via Wi-Fi/Ethernet. Dispatchers can monitor the status and alerts of multiple MMTD units simultaneously.
MMTD monitors environmental changes that may affect its accuracy and automatically calibrates itself. There are no consumables or daily maintenance procedures required for setup.
MMTD has no data storage limitation by using a standard SD memory card. Results can be exported via USB, SD or Ethernet ports. A USB key fob allows dispatchers to transfer SD card data and threat alerts.
There is no delay when switching between vapor and particle sampling modes. Switch quickly and the system is ready to begin analysis.
Currently available in English, Spanish, French, German and Russian. The device's advanced software offers easy access to the plasma display, as well as analysis and diagnostic tools.
New threat information can be added to the library.
The built-in LED display on the battery shows the charge level. The impact-resistant screen protects against accidental impact with tools or other objects. MMTD can withstand a 1 meter drop onto concrete and can operate in sandy, rainy and windy conditions.
