It is designed for remote detection of hidden video cameras in rooms and objects that are in an active state, i.e. filming. "Arkam" finds cameras regardless of their camouflage and the method of transmitting video information. The device is capable of detecting both conventional (wired) cameras and cameras transmitting information via a radio channel. The presence or absence of a transmitter does not affect the operation of the detector.
The device operates by analyzing certain sections of the electromagnetic spectrum for radiation that is specific only to video cameras.
"Arkam" analyzes the electromagnetic environment in the area under study for the presence of parasitic radiation from operating video cameras. The parameters of parasitic radiation are individual for each type of camera, and their combinations represent an electromagnetic "portrait" inherent in this type. Currently, about 10 types of analog and analog-digital video cameras with parameters (size, power consumption, lens design) that allow for hidden installation are widely used in Russia. Having detected suspicious radiation similar to the radiation of a camera stored in the device's database, "Arcam" examines and analyzes the frequencies found using 10 algorithms to eliminate the possibility of error.
When a video camera is detected, the device displays this on the touch LCD screen. At the same time, the level of radiation found is displayed, which allows you to search for a camera in the surrounding environment.
Thus, unlike video camera detectors operating on the optical principle, "Arcam" does not require a close monotonous inspection of all surfaces of the room, but allows you to determine the presence of a hidden video camera in a matter of seconds and then find it.
The presence of a mini-USB connector allows you to connect the detector to a computer to update the software and the database of currently known cameras.
The included charger can also be used as a network adapter for round-the-clock operation of the device.
