"Anthracite" - black, "Carnelian" - brown, "Opal" - white, "Dolmatin" - gray (works on both dark and light surfaces), "Coral" - red according to TZ 1498-03.

Processing of traces on metal objects is carried out with a magnetic or nap fingerprint brush. The possibility of detecting fingerprints on leather and its substitutes depends on the degree of its processing. On untreated leather, fingerprints can remain for several hours, on painted or patent leather - up to eight days. To detect fingerprints on leather and its substitutes, magnetic powder "Opal" is recommended. Surface processing is carried out with a magnetic and nap fingerprint brush. If the magnetic powder "Opal" excessively colors the substrate, the excess is removed with a nap brush.
On varnished, as well as nitro- or synthetic enamel coated items, good results are achieved using the powders: "Opal", copper oxide with soot, zinc oxide, aluminum. These powders allow you to detect fingerprints up to 30 days old. To detect fingerprints on items painted with oil paints, the same powders are used, but the age of the fingerprints is reduced to 10 days.
