SEARCH SIGNALING DEVICES ISP-PM1401K-01A (PM1401GNA), ISP-PM1401K-01B (PM1401GNB)

Gamma-neutron search devices in a robust metal case. Recommended for detecting and localizing gamma and/or neutron sources, as well as investigating incidents caused by the activation of highly sensitive portal radiation monitors.

PM1401K-01A

The ISP-PM1401K-01A detector-measuring device is a highly sensitive search device designed to detect and localize radioactive and nuclear materials by their gamma and neutron radiation. The device is equipped with two detectors: a scintillator based on a CsI(Tl) crystal for registering gamma quanta and a gas-discharge sensor based on Не-3 for registering neutrons. The neutron sensitivity of the detector-measuring device can be significantly increased by using a moderator chamber.

Main characteristics:

  • CsI(Tl) scintillation detector for detecting gamma radiation;
  • Gas discharge sensor based on Не-3 for detecting neutron radiation;
  • Built-in sound and light alarm;
  • External vibration alarm;
  • Non-volatile memory;
  • Communication with a personal computer via an infrared channel;
  • Metal shockproof case;
  • Light weight and small size;
  • Easy to use.

When switched on or at the user's command, the device automatically measures and stores the radiation background in the control zone. Subsequently, it immediately responds to even a slight excess of the background value, notifying about it with a sound, light and/or vibration signal for hidden detection or work in places with increased noise levels. This function ensures adequate automatic adaptation of the device to changes in the background level and simplifies the localization of the radioactive source in conditions of increased radiation intensity (localization of a point source against the background of a distributed radioactive source).

The algorithm used in the ISP-PM1401K-01A search meter-alarm allows the user to change the value of the preset threshold depending on the requirements for the frequency of false alarms and the probability of detecting a radiation source.

The device's volatile memory stores the history of its operation, including the fact and time of operation, the level of its excess in relation to the set threshold, as well as information on the state of the meter-alarm parameters. This information can be transmitted to a personal computer via an infrared communication channel for further processing, analysis and control.

The meter-alarm is easy to maintain, and special qualifications and training of the user are not required for correct operation of the device. The device can also be supplied with a telescopic extension designed for radiation monitoring in hard-to-reach places and providing higher radiation protection for the user.

ISP-PM1401K-01B
In addition to the functions of the basic model ISP-PM1401K-01A, ISP-PM1401K-01B can also be used for primary radioisotope identification. ISP-PM1401K-01B is equipped with a Bluetooth module for wireless remote information exchange between the radiation detector and a pocket personal computer (PDA) or laptop. ISP-PM1401K-01B accumulates the gamma spectrum of the detected source and transmits it via Bluetooth to the PDA for spectrum analysis and radioisotope identification using specially developed PoliIdentifyTM software. The Bluetooth module and two-component (radiation detector and PDA) design allow the user to be at a safe distance from the radioactive source during operation. Thus, an additional degree of protection is provided for the personnel conducting the radiation investigation.
