Automobile gamma, neutron and gamma-neutron portal monitors for monitoring passenger and freight vehicles. Use together with a video surveillance system and an automated operator workstation allows documenting events on detection of ionizing radiation sources.
The monitors can be installed at border and customs checkpoints to prevent illegal movement of radioactive and nuclear materials across state borders and on their territory; at facilities using or producing such materials; during incoming control at enterprises to prevent radiation sources from entering technological processes using or processing secondary raw materials. All models of RM5000A monitors are formed using a universal multifunctional gamma and neutron radiation detection unit.
The monitors can be mounted on bases on the ground, suspended on special supports or walls and are designed for operation in adverse climatic conditions. Depending on the requirements, the monitors can be single- or double-sided, and also have different control zone heights and monitor gamma, neutron or both types of radiation at the same time. Car monitors can be equipped with video surveillance systems, the ability to exchange data with a computer and paging communication with specialists responsible for performing radiation control procedures.
In the PM5000B series monitors, the neutron detectors are based on 10B/ZnS(Ag).
