Key Features:
Uses GC/MS to identify VOCs and SVOCs, including COPs and TPCs Ready to use within 5 minutes of startup Take one analysis in 3 minutes, allowing up to 30 samples to be analyzed without recharging the battery Lightweight, compact, and ruggedized for field use Universal sample collection and injection method allows for gaseous, liquid, and solid samples
GUARDION uses high-speed, high-resolution gas chromatography (GC) and a miniaturized toroidal ion trap mass spectrometer (MS) to identify VOCs and SVOCs in mixed gases, vapors, liquids, and solids.
GUARDION is a rugged, portable instrument for use in hot spots and extreme weather conditions. High-speed gas chromatography with a miniaturized mass spectrometer, combined with minimal size and weight, sets a new standard for the highest standards in this class of instruments.
The GUARDION system is ready to use within five minutes from a cold start. The CUSTODION™ solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber syringe is used for easy sample collection and injection into the GC/MS. Advanced low-heat-capacity GC technology provides rapid heating and cooling in the GC module, allowing analysis of 12 to 15 samples per hour.
The GUARDION has both a touchscreen and keypad, making it easy to use while wearing personal protective equipment. All the software needed for sample identification and reporting is built into the system. It contains libraries of military and industrial chemical warfare agents, as well as a database of hazardous substances, ensuring rapid results. In addition, the system can operate for up to three hours without recharging, depending on the number of samples being analyzed.
The GUARDION vacuum system includes a low-maintenance, shock-resistant, and replacement-free turbomolecular pump. The direct GC-MS interface eliminates the need for burn-in. Easy-to-use software eliminates the need for extensive operator training.
24/7/365 ReachBacklD™ technical support also helps ensure optimal GUARDION performance.
Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)
GC/MS is recognized as the gold standard in chemical identification. This technology combines gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify single-component or multi-component substances. In addition, the technology can identify trace elements in substances that are not detected by other methods.
Miniaturized Toroidal Ion Trap
The toroidal trapping method of the unique and innovative ion trap of the GUARDION system, as well as the use of a fast and low-maintenance vacuum pumping system, contribute to weight reduction and energy consumption. Thanks to the specific software of the GUARDION system, mass spectra can be used together with the NIST/EPA/NIH mass spectral library.
