The explosives detector "YaKR-KT" operates on the basis of the nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) method. The conveyor-type device with a 160-liter working chamber is designed to check baggage and hand luggage for the presence of explosives.
The prototype of the device has successfully passed trial operation at Domodedovo Airport.
ADVANTAGES OF THE NQR METHOD: Detects all plastic explosives, elasticites, all explosives based on hexogen and PETN (domestic explosives: powders "A-IX-1", "A-IX-2"; mixtures and alloys TG, TGA, MS; plastic explosives PVV; elastic explosives EV, etc., as well as foreign ones: composition "B", "Pentolite", etc.; plastic explosives "C", "C-2", "C-3", "C-4", "Semtex A", etc.) High probability of detection (over 95%) with a low level of false alarms the operator cannot influence the detection result The shape of the explosive does not affect the detection characteristics Short analysis time Detection of explosives in a sealed casing or having a low vapor density (e.g. plastic explosives and elasticites). Conventional methods do not detect plastics and elastics The method is direct and does not require calibration of the device Absence of ionizing and other harmful radiation
