Description The X-ray scanning system for freight train cars is designed for contactless (non-intrusive) inspection (visualization of the internal contents) of freight train cars. The contents of the cars are checked by analyzing the shadow X-ray image obtained by the ADANI®TRAINSCAN X-ray scanning system, including automatic recognition and identification of hazardous objects.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPLEX: The ADANI®TRAINSCAN X-ray scanning system includes equipment, protective structures for placing equipment and protective structures to ensure radiation safety. The ADANI®TRAINSCAN X-ray scanning system is a source of ionizing radiation, a detection and data transmission system, a control and signal processing unit installed in the portal of the system, and an automated workstation for controlling the system. The use of the high-energy X-ray scanning system ADANI®TRAINSCAN during inspection of freight trains significantly reduces the need for manual inspection and unloading of goods from the cars of the train during the work of inspectors.
PURPOSE OF THE SYSTEM: ADANI®TRAINSCAN is designed for contactless (non-intrusive) inspection (visualization of the internal contents) of freight train cars. The use of ADANI®TRAINSCAN allows, without unloading and opening the cars of the freight train, to check the cargo for compliance with the accompanying documents, to detect weapons, explosives, as well as contraband goods (cigarettes) and people. The X-ray scanning system ADANI®TRAINSCAN is controlled remotely by a minimum number of operators. Operators can be placed either in a separate control module supplied with the equipment of the system, or in a room provided by the customer of the system. The obtained images of the scanned objects are sent to the control module for analysis, processing and storage. The X-ray scanning complex ADANI®TRAINSCAN uses a linear accelerator with a power of at least 6 MeV as a source of ionizing radiation, which ensures a penetrating ability of at least 350 mm in steel.
DISTITUTE FEATURES OF THE COMPLEX: The X-ray scanning complex ADANI®TRAINSCAN consists of a portal of the X-ray receiver system 1 (Fig. 1), a module of the ionizing radiation source with a filtration and collimation device 2 (Fig. 1), a biological protection system from radiation to minimize the sanitary protection zone 3 (Fig. 1), as well as a movement control system, a system for monitoring the speed of train cars, a video surveillance system, sound and light signaling, a system for detecting the presence of strangers in the sanitary zone of the complex, and sensors for "cutoff" the train's diesel locomotive.
The X-ray scanning system ADANI®TRAINSCAN has a combination of unique properties:
Reliability and ease of maintenance of the system; Automated procedure for scanning and obtaining a black-and-white X-ray image of a railway freight train moving at a speed of up to 60 km/h; High penetrating power; High-energy technology for scanning and obtaining a black-and-white image when scanning a train moving at a speed of up to 60 km/h, as well as the ability to discriminate materials by atomic number when scanning a railway train moving at a speed of up to 15 km/h; Data processing algorithms for accurate and comprehensive image analysis and threat detection; Automatic recognition of suspicious objects when scanning a railway freight train moving at a speed of up to 15 km/h; High radiation safety. Composition of the system personnel:
3 Operators (in the control room), controlling the system and analyzing the obtained images (standard).
