The highly sensitive eddy current microprocessor hand-held metal detector "SPHINX VM-611VIKHR T" is designed to search for and detect metal objects during personal inspection, personal belongings, baggage and correspondence control.
The metal detector "SPHINX VM-611VIKHR T" is the latest development, which combines all the best search and operational characteristics.
The sensitivity in this model can be considered the standard, which all world manufacturers strive for, but sensitivity without the absence of false alarms is not an effective function. So, the "VIKHR T" model has a function of protection from nearby operating radio stations and thermal compensation, which corrects the sensitivity in real time depending on the ambient temperature. The effective operating range of this model is from -37 to +70 degrees. At the same time, there is the possibility of manual sensitivity correction, two programmable, independent sensitivity levels depending on the tasks (this function is available through the engineering programming mode). An example is the search for SIM cards from mobile phones, blades, needles or the opposite solution, concentrate search tasks on dangerous objects, a gun, a knife and you can switch between these modes with just one button.
The performance characteristics of this model are the maximum for this class of equipment, so the device's consumption is only 3 mA, which allows you to use the device without turning it off for more than 100 hours when using an alkaline battery or about 400 hours from a lithium-ion battery (with a capacity of 1200 mAh).
Also, the modular charger, with the ability to mount it on the wall, is related to ease of use. This solution provides a charge for the included battery, and also organizes a place for storing the metal detector on the site (optional).
The model is supplied to the world market under the name SPHINX VORTEX S and has a CE certificate

Warning: follow the laws of the Russian Federation, the approved policy and procedure for inspecting people of your organization. This material is provided by ZAO "SFINKS" for advisory purposes.
- Maintain privacy during inspection. During the inspection, it is recommended not to touch the person being inspected with a hand-held metal detector.
- The SPHINX hand-held metal detector is not an offensive weapon and should not be considered as such. The body of the SPHINX metal detector allows it to be used as a means of self-defense, if necessary.
- Before using the SPHINX metal detector, read the operating instructions. For more effective work with the metal detector to identify prohibited metal objects, it is necessary to conduct regular testing of personnel, activities to improve the qualifications and training of security personnel and law enforcement agencies.
- When scanning a person, the hand-held metal detector should be at a distance of 5-10 cm from the body. Avoid touching parts of the body or clothing of the person being inspected with the metal detector. However, in some cases, when inspecting a person in outerwear (down jackets, coats, etc.), it is necessary to bring the metal detector to the body of the person being inspected at a distance of less than 5 cm to ensure the best quality in detecting metal objects.
- Use the SPHINX metal detector in the maximum sensitivity mode. An exception may be the case when the inspection is carried out near large metal objects (for example, a floor with metal reinforcement).
- A person should always be inspected according to the same algorithm, observing a clear sequence of actions.
The illustration below shows the most effective method of inspecting a person using the SPHINX VM-611 VIKHR hand-held metal detector as an example.

The illustration below shows the most effective method of inspecting a person using the SPHINX VM-611 VIKHR hand-held metal detector as an example.
Description of the method of inspecting a person with a hand-held metal detector of the detected object and make sure that it was the object that triggered the metal detector. For example, if the metal detector triggered in the wrist area and the person being inspected claims that it is a watch under their shirt, the operator should ask the person to lift their sleeve to see the object. If the watch is large, you should ask them to take it off and inspect the wrist area again if it is hidden by clothing.
- If a stationary frame metal detector is used as part of the security system at the facility and it triggered an alarm when the person being inspected passed through, then regardless of the number of monitored zones and the number of active detection zones, conduct the inspection with a hand-held metal detector in accordance with the full algorithm of this inspection method. If one object is detected, do not stop the inspection process and complete it in accordance with the described algorithm.
- As a rule, on the middle part of the human body, in the waist area, there are metal objects such as buckles, large metal buttons, snaps or metal zippers. If a metal object is detected during scanning of the front part of the person being inspected, then two options for further action are offered:
a) The operator must ask the person being inspected to pull and turn outward the inner part of the belt and the belt buckle, if there is one, so that the operator can verify that there is no metal object behind the belt or waistband.
b) The operator must ask the person being inspected to unfasten the belt and move the buckle away from the triggering point of the metal detector. The operator must then re-scan the triggering area. If an object is further detected in the specified area, in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation, a personal search must be carried out in a separate room.
